LOCATION:
Harriet Hollister Spencer State recreation Area. It is located at the south end of Honeoye Lake about 45 minutes
South of Rochester, NY. We have chosen this park because of it's ability to always have snow. If there isn't any
in the city of Rochester there is still a good chance of snow in Harriet. We have not had a trail race for this event
yet. We've always had enough White stuff to run on.
COURSE:
The trail system is groomed for x-c skiing both classic and skate which makes for excellent snowshoeing
conditions. Do not be fooled we always like to throw in a little ungroomed trail for the adventure.
SNOWSHOES:
Legal minimum size is 120 square inches of coverage. Huh? you ask. Just about any snowshoes on the market
for adults is Legal.
AWARDS:
The awards Ceremony will take place at THE BREWERY on 8 Main St Honeoye Falls. It's a great little place with
good food and post-race beverages. They will be suppling some refreshments but feel free to stay after and
enjoy the hospitality.
The awards ceremony will be held as close to 12:00 noon as we can make it. We're usually a few minutes late
after picking up the race site and driving to Honeoye Falls. (staying within the speed limit of course)
Awards will be given to overall male/female, master male/female and top three in the following age groups 19 &
under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over.
PACKET PICK-UP & RACE DAY REGISTRATION
Race day registration and pre-registered pick up will begin at 9:00 am and close at 9:50am on race morning.
GOODIES:
We have a special gift for the first 75 registered. It is different every year and not decided yet for this year but it
will be well worth the effort.
